Pupils from Isaac Newton Primary School enjoyed a day at the National Tennis Centre in London last Wednesday.
The trip was part of a prize they won after coming top out of more than 100 entries in the Lawn Tennis Association’s ‘Road to Westminster’ video competition.
Arriving at 11.30am, they were given a tour of the centre and also took part in a two-hour training session. They were disappointed to just miss out on catching a glimpse of Andy Murray who trains there.
Isaac Newton Primary PE teacher Pippa Walker said: “It was a once in a lifetime trip and a great experience which all of our pupils will never forget.”
The first part of the LTA’s competition prize saw pupils from the school visit London to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and play tennis on specially created courts in the shadow of Big Ben. The school also won £150 worth of tennis equipment.
