Twenty schools take part in Grantham Cliffedale Chandlers table tennis tournament

Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club held a tournament for primary and secondary schoolchildren at The Meres leisure centre on Saturday.

More than 50 young players from 13 primary schools and seven secondary schools competed in their respective age groups, playing a number of competitive matches throughout the afternoon. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to those achieving first, second and third places in each event, and certificates were presented to all participants by Darran Leete, chairman of Cliffedale Chandlers.

Results: Under-9 boys – 3 Oliver Coyle (Grantham Preparatory), 2 William Schofield (St Mary’s), 1 Joshua Kettle (Cliffedale); under-9 girls – 3 Amber Halsey (Cliffedale), 2 Shana Hamilton (Isaac Newton), 1 Tegan Bickmore (Cliffedale); under-11 boys – Euan Burridge (Highfields), 2 Dexter Bickmore (Cliffedale), 1 Aalhad Kulkarni (Cliffedale); under-11 girls – 3 Rachel Ellis (Isaac Newton), 2 Jessica Austin (Colsterworth), 1 Alexandra Robinson (Isaac Newton); under-13 boys – 3 Keir Vardy (Priory Ruskin), 2 Henry Wood (King’s), 1 Benjamin Rigby (Charles Read); under-13 girls – 2 Georgia Coyle (KGGS), 1 Divya Prabhu (KGGS); under-16 boys – 3 Alex Allbones (Boston High), 2 Andrew Waton (St. Hugh’s), 1 Luke Harrison (King’s).
