ROWING: Grantham KGGS girls win medals at National Indoor Championships

Two KGGS students rowed for Newark Rowing Club who had a successful day in the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on Friday.

More than 2,700 athletes from schools and rowing clubs from all over the county took part in the event.

Pictured, from left, are Maisie Archer-Dytch (KGGS), Kitty Hawthorne, Freya Barker (both Stamford High School), and Izzy Holland (KGGS) who won silver medals in the Junior Sprint Relay for Years 7, 8 and 9, whilst Izzy won silver in the individual Year 9 category.

Their Newark Rowing Club coach Steve Collins said: “They are all dedicated to the training programme and these are great results for them.”
