Two Kesteven under-10 teams contested the Newark Festival last Sunday.

Ks’ ‘Blacks’ trailed 2-0 at half time to Newark Reds in their first match and the final 3-0 scoreline did not do justice to the quality of the rugby played.

The second game against Bishop’s Stortford saw Kesteven take more of a spectator’s role and is best consigned to history.

The ‘Blacks’ lost by the narrowest of margins against Newark Blues and drew 4-4 in a replay of the first game.

Kesteven ‘Whites’ defeated Bishop’s Stortford 2-1 and beat Newark Reds 3-1 in their second game.

The ‘Whites’ went down narrowly 2-1 against another Bishop’s Stortford side before facing another Newark team.

Ks dominated and triumphed 5-1 with tries from Fred (2), Roy, Leo and Matty.
