RUGBY: President’s Day match and RFU awards round off Kesteven’s top season

Kesteven Rugby Club rounded off its most successful season with the annual President’s Day match between the first team and Mike Money’s select XV.

Before the match, the club received two prestigious awards from the Rugby Football Uniorn.

Club president Mike Money received the RFU Accreditation award, achieved for the club meeting a strict criteria in organisation and management of the game, from juniors through to adult coaching.

Kesteven also received a runners-up prize in the RFU President’s Awards “This is Rugby” category, a national award to reward clubs who go above and beyond what is necessary to ensure that members act in the best interests and spirit of the sport. Secretary Bill Berridge received the award on behalf of the club.

Kesteven’s first team ended their magnificent season by winning the match 55-17. Tries came from Will Cann (2), Danny Turner, Scott Odams, Jake Hughes (2), Olly Wood and Aaron Whittaker. Kicking duties were performed with some panache by Chris Galloway.
