Fifty-two Grantham Swimming Club members qualified this year to compete in the Lincolnshire County Championships at Louth, held over two weekends in March.

Swimmers competed in many events, from 50m to 1500m, and the Club enjoyed the best results in its history, winning a total of 146 medals, 35 of which were gold, 49 silver and 62 bronze.

Thirty swimmers gained medals compared to 22 in 2014, showing the club continues to progress.

William Hawkes topped the medal table with 14 gold, four silver and three bronze. Runner-up was Eleanor Lythgoe with six gold, seven silver and two bronze medals, and Abigail Farkas was third with three gold, two silver and three bronze.

Twelve Grantham swimmers have so far qualified for the Regional Championships which will be held in Coventry later in the year.
