The latest Swim School distance evening was held at The Meres leisure centre on Saturday.

The club had more than 50 swimmers attend and they all swam amazingly well.

Two of the younger swimmers, aged just five, swam their first 25 metres, whilst one of the stronger swimmers swam 5,000 metres – 200 lengths of the pool.

A few members swam 1,500metres and two children, aged just seven years old, swam one mile and 2,000 metres – 80 lengths.

Swim School head teacher Ange Taylor said: “A big well done to all the swimmers and hope to see you all again to go even further at our next distance night on September 30.”

l The Swim School at the leisure centre pool caters for swimmers of all abilities, from age four months to 80 years plus. The club offers both weekly lessons and intensive crash courses during school holidays. If you would like further information, contact the centre on 01476 581930 or email swim.grantham@1life.co.uk
