Bingham-based Cranmer A have been leaders in the Grantham and District Table Tennis League Division One all season.

Their squad of Gary Pickering, Tony Fox, Steve Fox and Colin Richardson all have won more than 85 per cent of their matches, and they now look certainties to win the league.

Chandlers A, with their mix of outstanding young players and experienced campaigners, look favourites for the runners-up spot.

In Division Two, BTL are still in the top position with DVS Crowns in second position. Newark Wanderers B have been challenging for second place, but last week Ancaster C knocked their hopes by triumphing 6-4 at Newark, with Clive Creasey winning all three of his singles and Ken Mounser winning two and the doubles with Clive. This victory was their third in a row boosted them into the top five.
