TABLE TENNIS: Grantham club chairman and head coach Darran receives annual award

Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club chairman and head coach Darran Leete received the Regional Coach of the Year award from Table Tennis England at the weekend.

Darran’s award was in recognition of his time and dedication to the club and the for the work he does behind the scenes to keep it running smoothly.

He and other members of the club attended a clubs and volunteer conference in Nottingham where he was presented with his award.

Cliffedale Chandlers is run 100 per cent by volunteers, and the qualified coaches do not get paid for their time at sessions or at tournaments, with either individual players or teams.

Sessions are held three times a week in the table tennis centre at The Meres leisure centre, Tuesdays 7-9pm, Friday 7-8.30pm and Saturdays 12-2pm and 2-4pm.
