TAE KWON-DO: Grantham club trio bring home medals from English Championships

King’s School Academy Tae Kwon-Do Club brought home three medals from the English Championships held at Worcester Arena.

The club entered three black belts in the day-long competition that attracted more than 1,000 martial artists.

Club instructor Daniel Pearce, a fifth degree black belt, gained a bronze medal in the men’s black belt patterns. Matthew Keyse fought throughout the day and lifted gold in the men’s black belt sparring.

Meanwhile, Abigail Goddard secured bronze in the ladies’ sparring.

l Grantham and local clubs will be hosting the Lincolnshire Championships at The Meres leisure centre on Saturday, May 9. Tickets for spectators are priced at £9 and club instructor Malcolm Scholes advises buying in advance to avoid disappointment. Contact the club on 570616.
