Rushall Olympic 0

Grantham Town 0

Both Grantham and Rushall ended up with 10 men and both failed to manage to find the back of the net.

The cold night was made worse by hail but the Gingerbreads weathered the storm and attacks from the home side.

Town goalkeeper Jake Turner kept his side in the game to deny the home side an early lead.

At the other end, Grantham had chances through Ben Saunders and Liam Read, but both shots were wide of the mark.

Rushall were first to be reduced to 10 men when Mitch Tolley was shown a straight red card for his tackle on Grantham skipper Sam Purcicoe.

Team numbers were evened out before half time when Town’s Will Rawdon also received a straight red for his challenge on Sam Austin.

The second half saw goal scoring opportunities again for both sides, with Gingerbread Read’s effort cleared off the line and team-mate Danny Meadows being denied by the Rushall keeper.
