Grantham Tennis Club members came away with a great medal haul from Nottingham Tennis Centre.

The Midlands leg of the National Learning Disability competition saw Ryan Caven and Thomas Dowsett make their competitive debuts. Playing some great tennis, they both managed to win their respective groups.

Not content with that, they teamed up together for the doubles and, without dropping a set, romped to victory in the round robin format

Aidan Bennett was rewarded for winning gold at last year’s National Championships by being promoted to a far stronger group this time around. He found the going tough and had to dig deep to find his best form, and did incredibly well to secure third place.

He then partnered Scott Brown from Nottingham in the doubles event in which they managed to win the bronze medal.

All three lads are active members of Grantham Tennis Club which has a thriving Learning Disability programme.
