Grantham Tennis Club ladies’ third team narrowly lost their match against Magdala 53-55 at the weekend.

A very close game and a good battle from Elaine and Rachel Pulfree, Elaine Maplethorpe and Tracy Hobson, Lorraine Walton and Karen Pye-Smith.

Both sides played great tennis, but unfortunately it was the Grantham side who narrowly missed out on the overall victory.

The ladies’ winter second sstring also played at the weekend, against Caunton B team.

Captained by Wendy Bland, the team consisted of Pam Aust and Liz Frobisher, Wendy Bland and Katy Dines, and Christina Clough and Holly Richardson.

With the sun shining, and some unfortunate crosswinds, both teams battled it out, but unfortunately once again it was not the Grantham side that came out on top, narrowly losing out to the Caunton team.
