TENNIS: Grantham lady veterans triumph comfortably at home

Grantham Tennis Club ladies’ first veterans team played their last match of the season against Nettleham at home on Sunday.

The team consisted of Jackie Wilson and Jo Jones, and Lis Isles and Veronica Stephens. Both pairs won their matches comfortably, establishing an 8-0 win.

Grantham fifth mixed team maintained their 100 per cent record on Sunday, making it three wins out of three by beating Keyworth 17 sets to one, in a fun match in very blustery conditions. The team comprised Colin Walton and Sheena Gordine, Jarek Mechlinski and Sue Cox, and Peter and Ros Elphick.

Grantham Tennis Club’s 12-and-under team went to Boston last weekend and came home with a 3-0 win under their belt. Congratulations to Polly Cullen and Lilia Dunn.
