Grantham Tennis Club men’s first team debuted in the Regional Aegon Division on Sunday.

The team, who gained promotion last year from the Lincolnshire League, played their first match of the season away against Kibworth in Leicestershire.

Undaunted by the step up in quality, Grantham enjoyed two wins from four singles matches, making the doubles crucial.

Despite a long match, captain Jonathan Cummins and Richard Cragged picked up the deciding doubles win to give the team an 8-4 victory.

The winning team also included Andrew Isaacand Michael Cragg.
