Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School under-14 team travelled to Bedford last Friday with GB coach Jim Caulfield to secure their place in the English Schools National Water Polo Final in May.

The 12-strong squad went head-to-head against Bedford Girls’ School in the fight for qualification for this year’s final.

In a convincing display of teamwork by all players, KGGS emerged victorious with a score of 9-2 brought home by Harriet Underwood, Georgia Coyle (2), Lily Jackson (2), Katie Knott (2), Alex Barnett and Amelia Peters. New, up and coming under-14 goalkeeper Laura Harvey demonstrated her growing skill and confidence in the goalmouth.

The KGGS girls train with Grantham Water Polo Club at The Meres twice a week. In addition, many also train at the Regional Training Centre in Nottingham under GB coaches Tim Dunsbee and Jim Caulfield.
