Harrowby United secured their first league victory of the season with a late winner in against Peterborough Northern Star.

The Arrows started well and took an early lead after eight minutes when Olly Dyson sent Callum Wilkinson away down the left.

Striker Wilkinson drove the ball low and hard across the PNS six-yard box to be met by an incoming Danny Durkin, who made no mistake from a couple of yards out.

The visitors got themselves more into the game and Jack Drury got down well to his left to save a lively Jacob Joyce shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Star equalized after 25 minutes when a long diagonal ball in behind the Harrowby defence from Hayden Bream was latched onto by Craig Smith, who controlled and slotted the ball past Drury.

Harrowby regained the lead a minute before half time when Craig Bridge won the ball inside his own half before sending Durkin away down the right.

The striker cut inside and fired in a low shot from an acute angle, the ball squirming through the hands of Star keeper Dan George.

After the break Bream struck the Arrows woodwork before his side eventually levelled in the 84th minute.

Smith capitalised on some hesitation to find the net.

But in stoppage time Harrowby snatched victory as Rick Brewer slipped in Simon Weatherstone, the pacey striker knocking the ball wide of the keeper before rolling the ball home.

Man Of The Match: Billy Stubbs.

HARROWBY: Drury, Whyley, Watson, Hill, Stubbs, Dyson (Brewer 45), Andersen (Weatherstone 56), Bolland, Bridge (Currall 76), Wilkinson, Durkin; Subs (not used): Lee, Rhodes.
