Aslockton Cranmers triumphed over Mansfield Town’s Academy side in the Notts FA Shield Final at Arnold Town, Nottingham.

A fantastic team effort drove Aslockton to the 3-2 win, but only after play went into extra time.

Goals in normal time from Kai Manners and Aaron Roberts took the game to extra time when Matt Bloor then became the hero with a last minute 35-yard free kick which flew into the top corner of the net.

The Cranmers fans and team went wild at the final whistle before captain Pierce Hallam picked up the trophy.

Manager and club chairman Martin Hallam said it was the biggest highlight in the club’s 15-year history.

Amongst the Aslockton squad were King’s School students Pierce Hallam, Bill Rush, Matt Breedon, Luke Gorman and Ben Hawkins, alongside Priory Ruskin Academy pupils Sol Gbamashi and George Corden.
