Barrowby 2

Bestwood Park 1

Barrowby entertained a competitive Bestwood Park side at Lowfields at the weekend, in a fiercely fought contest that saw the referee make a clutch of bookings and send off two players.

Barrowby needed three points to keep their promotion campaign on track and set up a thrilling final game of the season against league leaders Market Warsop.

Milne, Kay and Skoyles worked tirelessly in the centre of midfield and the Barrowby defence was well marshalled by the in-form Sandon.

Barrowby went two goals up through Milne and a Dudley penalty, which caused the visitors to lose some discipline and concede needless free kicks.

Birch was able to pounce on an opportunity to pull a goal back for the visitors, but Barrowby held on to secure the points and were unlucky not to extend their lead a number of times.

Man of the match was Sandon.
