Riverside Rapids 1

Barrowby 7

A long journey across to Long Eaton saw Barrowby taking on league leaders Riverside Rapids, a team who had performed well in the 5-5 fixture a few weeks before.

The game started slightly flat with both sides having to come to terms with the strong winds.

Barrowby adjusted their game the quicker and through some clinical passing in midfield took a 2-0 lead.

The home side managed to pull a scrappy goal back before Cann stunned the home crowd with two goals direct from corners, having cleverly judged the wind strength and direction.

The home side never really recovered from this and, unlike Barrowby, were unable to capitalise from the strong winds in the second half.

Additional goals from Cann, Ludew and Marshall put the game well beyond a Riverside side who were never really able to test a strong Barrowby defence.

Goal scorers were man-of-the-maatch Cann (5), Ludew and Marshall.
