YOUTH FOOTBALL: Foister is hat-trick hero in Harrowby United youngsters’ win
Mid Lincs Youth League
HBW United 1
Harrowby United 6
The young Arrows travelled to HBW for their last league game before the Christmas break.
Playing against the wind, Harrowby broke the deadlock with a fine solo run and finish by the in-form Kye Hull. However, HBW hit back to bring the scores level through Bucknall.
The Arrows defence and midfield then took control and allowed the forwards to express themselves with some sublime passing moves, one of which released Korban Read who finished delightfully to give Harrowby a 2-1 half-time lead.
The second period saw the Arrows playing with the advantage of the strong wind and, within minutes, Read finished well to add to his tally.
HBW then reverted to a high line, trying to spring an offside trap at every attack, but could not cope with the speedy Harrowby front men.
Dominic Foister sprinted through to skilfully chip the oncoming keeper to open his account, and very quickly made it two by latching on to a loose ball to stroke home.
Harrowby missed a few chances to add to their goal tally in the remaining 15 minutes, but Foister managed to complete his hat-trick by bursting through to meet a well-taken free kick by Joe Down.
Harrowby man of the match was Adam Meffen.

Barrowby continued their current rich vein of form with a resounding away win against Netherfield, despite the fact that stand-in keepers Brewill and Kay were required.
In a scrappy first half, the visiting side went in 3-0 up at half-time, but the break seemed to rejuvenate Barrowby and they started the second half at a blistering pace.
A rampant Marshall ran amok with a four-goal second half haul and the central defensive partnership of Pigram and Sandon were able to contain the Netherfield attack admirably.
Ellis slotted back in at left back after a period of unavailability through injury.
Goal scorers were Brewill (2), Cann, Duggan (2), Ludew (3) and Marshall (4). Man of the match was Brewill.
