YOUTH FOOTBALL: Grantham Flames return to their roots

Grantham Flames YFC have expressed their gratitude to Grantham Fire Station for allowing them to go back to their roots and use the patch of land at the back of the fire station for a football pitch.

Both Flames under-11 teams, under-9s and under-8s have had to play matches away for most of this season, due to the inclement weather making their pitch unplayable. This has meant that parents of all teams have had to endure a lot of travelling.

Whilst this was going on, the club was working tirelessly to source a playable pitch in Grantham. This was when the fire station stepped in and offered Grantham Flames the land on which to play.

The new ground is seen as a massive boost to the club who now have a pitch in the heart of the community that supports them.

The team also has gone back to the very patch of land where the Grantham Flames originated 10 years ago.
