Grantham made the short journey to Great Ponton to take on local their nearest league rivals.

Ollie Burton put Kieran Smith through on goal on seven minutes to fire Town into the lead.

Two minutes later Grantham doubled their lead with a fine finish from Lewis Smith.

Alfie Hardman played a perfected weighted pass to Kieran Smith who fired the Gingerbreads into a three goal lead.

From the kick-off, Gran-tham won the ball back and found Lewis Smith in space who shot passed the keeper to further the Grantham advantage.

On 28 minutes Grantham found themselves 5-0 up when Kieran Smith completed his hat trick.

Ponton were rewarded on 34 minutes when a delightful chip beat Grantham keeper Harry Pulfrey to make it 5-1.

On the stroke of half time, Town’s lead was expanded further when Kieran Smith ran through to score his fourth of the game.

Luke Pulfrey was working well down the left handside and he won the ball in midfield that eventually on 48 minutes saw Lewis Smith complete his hatrick and put the visitors 7-1 in front.

Liam Ginnelly replaced Kieran Smith up front and he calmly slotted home from a one-on-one with the keeper to finish the match as deserved winners.
