AN exhibition coming up in Lincoln revisits a plane crash in Staunton in the Vale in 1943.

The display, entitled ‘The Last Crew of Lancaster W4270’, is at Lincoln Art Works, in West Parade, and features the compelling story of the crew of 61 Squadron Lancaster W4270 that crashed a mile north west of St Staunton in the Vale on February 18, 1943.

Running alongside the exhibition is ‘‘Reflections and Remembrance’, which features the work of acclaimed aviation artist Simon Atack, recognised as one of the world’s foremost military aviation and naval artists.

The exhibition will run from October 20 to November 2.
