A WOMAN, who entered a poem into a competition after seeing it in the Journal, will have her work published later this year.
Val Odell, 71, of Croft Drive, Grantham, is looking forward to reading her poem The Music Man in the National Poetry Anthology’s 2012 publication, A Gathering of Minds.
She said: “I find it hard to believe, I’ve been doing it for so long. To see your words in print is something special.”
Val writes mainly for a young audience and has been reading her work to her own children and grandchildren since they were little.
She decided to dedicate her work the them. She wrote: ‘To my children and grandchildren who have had to sit and listen to my ramblings for a long time, thank you.’
