There’s only one way to mark Burns Night - and that’s with a wee dram.

And just so they feel they have earned their reward, imbibers in Grantham are being offered the chance to improve their knowledge at the same time.

Directors of The Trickling Tap liquid deli in Grantham have organised a special whisky tasting on Saturday, January 25, to celebrate the Scottish poet.

The evening will consist of a tutored tasting of four single malt whiskies with a guest presenter and whisky tasting champion.

The event takes place at the Angel Bar at the Angel and Royal Hotel in Grantham and starts at 7.30pm.

The tasting is expected to last two hours and there will be refreshments and an opportunity to buy the selected whiskies.

Visitors will be encouraged to ask questions and talk to the presenter.

Tickets costing £20 per person are available from The Trickling Tap, in Market Place, Grantham.

A spokesman said: “The evening will include tastings of different single malt whiskies and one blind tasting. Through tasting, learning and interaction, this tasting night is not to be missed.”
