FANCY yourself as a headline writer?
Always felt your photo captions are head and shoulders above the rest?
Well now is your chance to pen a pithy headline and a cracking caption for publication in the Journal.
Last week Heather Kent of Gonerby Hill Foot tickled our funny bones with her rapier wit regarding Father Christmas confusing Grantham’s parking regulations with those of Bourne.
And this week’s hand-crafted funny has a festive theme, too - but can you offer us a one-line wonder to go with it?
Our resident cartoonist Terry Shelbourne has always been one of the paper’s most popular figures. His unique creations forever catch the eye of the readers, who hold Terry in great affection.
And now you can have the privilege of crafting some choice words to go with his weekly doodle.
All you have to do, is study his latest cartoon hard, and come up with a one-line header and a one-line caption. It couldn’t be simpler.
Your handiwork will be published in this week’s Journal, and online for everyone to see just how clever you are.
Send entries to: firstname.lastname@example.org marked ‘Cartoon Caption Competition’.
There’s no prize on offer, only the honour of being crowned Grantham’s greatest wit - at least for a week.
