BIG band music will chime out at The Meres in Grantham next week, as The Good Guys Orchestra takes to the stage.

The traditional big band style is given a more modern twist as the new 18-piece band fuses the traditional authentic swing era with the now popular musical styles, reminiscent of Michael Buble and Gordon Goodwin.

Guy Garrett is the orchestra leader, and he will bring the band to The Meres as the county’s debut.

He said: “The Good Guys is the realisation of a lifetime’s ambition to form a top grade big band and it’s great to be able to present these amazing instrumentalists on the start of their first tour for our local audiences in Lincolnshire.”

Guy has played at all the major concert venues in the UK and entertained around the world as a Royal Air Force musician. In addition, as leader of the very popular Shades of Blue Orchestra, he has also featured on various national televised performances, including at the Royal Albert Hall and for the BBC Children in Need appeal.

The remaining musicians in The Good Guys Orchestra are incredibly talented in their own right, as members serving in the Royal Air Force or civilian instrumentalists.

Music lovers are promised a ‘unique evening of musical entertainment’ at The Meres on Sunday.

The concert starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £9 (£7) and are available at or by calling 07908 154484.
