Sally the Scarecrow and The Toymaker meet and greet children after the show.

An interactive, singalong puppet show got the summer break off to a great start at Grantham’s Guildhall Arts Centre on Saturday.

Aimed at pre-schoolers, which was reflected in the audience (parents apart) Marty MacDonald’s Toy Machine was an hour or so of fun.

It is a simple yet engaging story and songs young and old knew every word to - Head, Shoulders, Knees And Toes, The Wheels On The Bus, and Old MacDonald Had A Farm which introduced the cute puppets - Crafty the Crow, Pongo the Pig, Shena the Sheep and Molly-Moo the Cow.

And the race to get the broken toy machine fixed and give the world back its toys was tied nicely together by the super enthusiastic Marty, Sally the Scarecrow and The Toymaker, who were quick to join all the youngsters from the audience for photos and a chat in the foyer..
