Grantham Music Club's first concert of the new season features pianist Alexandra Dariescu at the hall of the King’s School on Wednesday, October 3, at 7.30pm.

The Romanian pianist was recently named as one of ‘30 pianists under 30’ destined for a spectacular career.

She first performed at the music club several seasons ago and since then has become a national and international artist, dazzling audiences worldwide with her effortless musicality and captivating stage presence.

She will be playing pieces from her current recital repertoire and will undoubtedly provide an entertaining curtain-raiser to the new season.

Tickets for non-members are £12 (students free) at the door or in advance from the Guildhall Arts Centre box office (01476 406158).

Club membership fees are £52 and are now due (£50 if paid before September 4). Send a cheque payable to Grantham Music Club to Membership Secretary, Wayside, Oasby, Grantham NG32 3ND with SAE for return of membership card.

The Christmas concert will be given by the Singers from Cantamus at ChristChurch, in Finkin Street.

The club's concert season resumes on Wednesday, January 9, at the hall of the King's School, where local baritone Jake Muffett will be singing, accompanied by Philip Robinson on piano.

The Saltarello Trio will be performing at the King's School hall on Wednesday, February 13, whilst the final concert of the season will see Joglaresa take to the stage, also at the King's School, on Wednesday, March 27.
