Free family fun event at Grantham's Guildhall Arts Centre

Grantham’s Guildhall Arts Centre will host a family fun day on Saturday.

The free event, on from 10.30am to 3.30pm, is made up of five hours of workshops, activities and shows.

There will be face-painting, arts and crafts, street theatre from A Bird in the Hand and Rhubarb Theatre, circus skills sessions with Earth Bound Misfits, and music throughout the day from DJ Houduno.

Some of the fun will be linked to an ongoing community cohesion project entitled ‘Bridge’ which will culminate in a large-scale arts and engineering event in the Market Place in September.

At the Guildhall, families will be able to find out more and children will be able to walk across a ‘community bridge’.

Performances of My Shadow and Me will take place in the theatre at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

The act tells the story of one person and his shadow who meet and go on an incredible, imaginative, shadowy journey where creatures emerge, engage and transform beautifully. This show is like a cartoon created live out of nothing but darkness and light.

Families can then join a Shadow Workshop after, but spaces must be pre-booked as there is limited availability.

As well as all of this, there will be bridge-making workshops and a Capoeira and Grantham gymnastics demo.
