Lincolnshire hospitals trust to host carol service at Lincoln cathedral
The trust that runs Grantham hospital will host its annual carol service in Lincoln Cathedral next month.
Everyone is invited to the traditional service of lessons and carols, taking place on Thursday, December 17, at 7.30pm.
The Lincolnshire Hospitals Band, the only NHS Brass Band in the country, will be playing and the Lindum Ladies’ Singers are providing a special item. Both groups will join with the whole congregation to sing traditional carols. The Bishop of Grimsby will give the address and there will be mince pies for all at the end of the service.
Lessons will be read by staff from a cross-section of Lincolnshire healthcare trusts and charities. Admission is free and tickets are not necessary.
Deputy Senior Chaplain and Deputy Bereavement and Voluntary Services Manager, Jeremy Pemberton said: “Christmas is a time when many people reflect on the importance of their relationships, their families, their communities. In the healthcare community, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate the festival in a traditional way, but to do it together.
“We are proud of who we are and what we do for our neighbours across the county, and this service is a celebration of that as we remember the Christmas story.”
