Martin Kemp to lead post-races party at the Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse

More news, no ads

The Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse just got even better — with the announcement that Martin Kemp will lead the post-race party.

The musician and actor will deliver a ‘pick n mix’ Eighties classics DJ set so race-goers can dance the night away at the end of the seven-race card.

This year’s event, organised in conjunction with our sister paper the Newark Advertiser, takes place on Sunday, August 14.

As one of the highlights of the district’s social calendar, thousands of people are expected to snap up tickets.

This year's event is back at full capacity and organisers are expecting huge demand for tickets.

“We are really looking forward to Martin Kemp adding glitz, to what we are planning to be our biggest and best renewal of Advertiser Ladies Day," said Southwell Racecourse's executive director Mark Clayton.

"We are expecting a sell-out, so please book early to avoid the potential disappointment of missing such a big day.”

The Advertiser Ladies Day offers the chance to combine elegance with all the excitement of a day at the races.

While there isn’t a formal dress code, most Ladies Day race-goers brush off their best outfits to dress to impress.

As an added incentive, there will be the Ladies Day Style Awards, offering a £500 cash prize for the best dressed who catches the eye of the judges.

As usual, there will be a variety of race-day packages on offer as well as standard admission tickets.
