MEMORY LANE: Twisting the night away at Grantham social club

Grantham’s first twist competition was held in May 1962.

Organised by Huntingtower Road Allotment Association, it was staged at BMARC Social Club.

Dancing to the town’s Pontiacs band, one of the winning couples were ‘Nifty’ Andrews and Miss J. Mottershaw, who won a camera and travelling clock.

Joint winners Miss J. Murphy and Donald Holmes won an electric razor and a hair dryer.
