Newark Festival is back for the fifth year running, offering a fantastic line up with something for everyone.

The now well established three day festival at the Riverside Park in view of Newark Castle, presents as its highlight a strong 80s Night featuring Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley, ABC, Bananarama and Midge Ure on Saturday, June 18.

Tony Hadley said: “I am delighted to be performing. The location is beautiful with the backdrop of Newark Castle and the crowd are a lively bunch I am told!”

Friday, June 17 sees the return of Riverside Rocks and if you love Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, The Killers and Arctic Monkeys then you need to buy a ticket to the best party in town with The Bon Jovi Experience, The Four Fighters, The Fillers and Antarctic Monkeys who will be performing all their biggest hits.

And Sunday sees the return of the ever growing Free Family Day at Riverside Park and across the town, with a day full of entertainment, food and drink for all the family and the evening becoming a more musical ‘Swing in the Park’ Concert.

Newark Festival will also this year play host to ‘BBC Introducing in the East Midlands’. The world respected music strand will join the free Sunday family day on June 19 to bring specially selected bands to the East Midlands. Artists will be selected by BBC Radio Nottingham’s Dean Jackson who hosts BBC Introducing across the BBC regional stations in the East Midlands at 8pm to 10pm each Saturday.

Dean said: “It’s important that we get out into the community and give a platform to local musicians and working with respected promoters like LHG Live in order to do that represents an excellent partnership for us.

“The more opportunities we can give local artists, not just with sessions on the radio or with plays of their songs, but actually being able to offer live opportunities is fantastic and at the core of what we believe at BBC Introducing.”

Tickets available to purchase online at http://www.newarkfestival.co.uk/

Ticket prices for Riverside Rocks are £15 for adults and £10 for children (NUS and 16 and under). Tickets for Saturday will cost £29.50 for adults and £20 for children.
