A NEW film commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attck on the World Trade Centre has been released by a musician whose father died in the atrocity.

Ukrainian folk singer Iryna Muha has recorded a Russian folk song called Kaby Vedala (If Only I Knew) in memory of her father Iouri Mouchinski, who died when the north tower of the World Trade Centre collapsed.

Iryna and her band, MuHa, worked with Nottingham company Brettmetal films to make the video, which is avaialble online and can be bought in DVD format.

Iryna said: “Kaby Vedala is an extremely personal song for me.The traditional folk lyrics reflect how life and death entwine, echoing the heartbreaking transformation that incredible day ten years ago had on me, my family, and of course the rest of the world.

“We would like to dedicate this beautiful song to all the people in the world who were affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks.”

The band is planning a September ‘peace concert’, which will feature a screening of the video.
