If you haven’t yet bought your tickets to Grantham’s Party in the Park, what are you waiting for?
The headline act at this year’s event – which forms part of Grantham Carnival – is the UK’s premier Madness tribute band, One Step Behind.
The band, which has made a number of TV appearances and played at the 2006 Proms in the Park in Hyde Park, has won praise from original members of Madness, and Suggs himself.
They are the longest surviving Madness tribute band and have played the length and breadth of Britain and across Europe, including The Marquee Club and the Venue at New Cross.
Each member grew up as a Madness fan and has perfected their portrayal of their counterpart, striving to match every detail in music and appearance.
One Step Behind will be a welcome act to this year’s gig at Wyndham Park, on Saturday, June 18, held once again in a heated marquee.
The night kicks off at 7.30pm with support act, and Grantham band, The System. Also entertaining will be the Carousel Roadshow.
Tickets for Party in the Park cost £12.50 (under-12s free) and are available from the Guildhall box office via www.guildhallartscentre.com or by calling 01476 406158.
A bar and food will be available.
Party in the Park comes after day one of the town’s carnival weekend. The weekend begins with the parade on the Saturday morning, kick-starting the carnival in Wyndham Park. There will be plenty of attractions and entertainment for all the family, including fairground rides, an arena, stalls, bar and so much more.
The event is organised by the Grantham Carnival and Events Group.
