A Grantham band will head out on the road this month supporting the group Lawson who have had five top 20 hit singles.
Paighton are a four piece band made up of drummer Pete Coppin, singer/guitarist Joe Atkinson, singer/ pianist Andrew Thomas and bassist Dave Stephens.
The band was born out of That Sunday Feeling, a group which supported McFly on a stadium tour of the UK. But when one of the members left it was decided to ‘rebrand’ the group.
Paighton have recorded half a dozen tracks which were well received and they have filmed a music video to their track ‘Drive’. The tracks are available to download off iTunes.
The band has been rehearsing in the studio at Simmonds Music in Westgate, Grantham, where the band members also teach instruments.
Paighton start the tour supporting Lawson on September 28 at Rhyl Pavilion and will play 15 dates around the UK including Leicester De Montfort Hall, Liverpool Echo Arena, London Roundhouse and Birmingham O2 Academy.
After the Lawson tour, they will continue touring with singer/songwriter Tyler Hilton and then in December go out on their own headline tour.
Pete said: “The band is about nostalgia, growing up and maturity and we feel Lawson is the perfect tour to do.”
