A line-up of talented youth and veterans of the entertainment world will take to the Guildhall stage on March 20 to help raise money for the mayor’s charities.

The Mayor of Grantham’s Charity Variety Show will support Coun Ian Selby’s three nominated charities - the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund, Gravity FM and Kesteven Rideability.

Among those to perform is guitarist and singer Trevor Leeson who started his career in 1958, as a member of skiffle band The Rebels and later The Merseybeats.

Also in the line-up are local singer Terry Carey, who is said to have a voice between Englebert Humperdinck and Tom Jones, The Sensational Soul Band and Walton Girls’ High School. Also on the bill is Dr Ika, an impressive guitarist who plays the blues and rock.

Coun Selby said: “There is a fabulous line-up with every act including the compere Ali Jay good enough to headline the show.”

Tickets cost £12 from the box office on 01476 406158 or visit www.guildhallartscentre.com
