Pub restaurant chain Brewers Fayre has launched its competition to look for a local amateur choir or singing group to become this year’s Christmas Carol Stars.
The company, which owns The Farrier in Grantham, is looking for singing stars of all ages and styles to send in a digital recording (audio or video) of their favourite Christmas carol. The winners of the competition will record a range of carols which will then be played in selected Brewers Fayre pub restaurants across the country over the Christmas period.
Four runners-up are in with a chance to perform for guests in their local Brewers Fayre restaurant, and both the winners and runners-up will receive a free festive meal to help them celebrate Christmas together.
Brewers Fayre spokesperson Emma Price said: “Carol singing really does make the Christmas period feel all the more enchanting and after seeing such a great response during last year’s search, Brewers Fayre is thrilled to show its support for local singers across the country. We can’t wait to listen to the entries and are looking forward to sharing some festive music with our customers this Christmas.”
Any groups wishing to enter the competition should send in their recording by email to carolfactor@frankpr or by post to Carol Factor, Frank PR, 3rd Floor, Centro 4, 20-23 Mandela Street, London NW1 ODU, by midnight on Saturday, November 24.
Groups need to provide the following information with their recording: Name of singing group or choir; names of members; name, address and contact details for the contact person if the group is successful; tell the judges why in no more than 100 words your choir or group should be named the official Brewers Fayre Christmas Carol Stars for 2012, and enclose a photo of the group.
