A choir performed a Christmas a capella concert at ChristChurch.
Octovox, a choir made up of eight (octo) voices (vox) sang at the church on Friday in front of a large audience who came to enjoy an ‘Arts Break Christmas Spectacular’.
They appreciated a wide-ranging programme of a capella traditional and modern Christmas music from medieval to newly composed and arranged pieces.
They joined in well-known carols and rose to the challenge of singing a three part round complete with actions. Octovox leader Paul Emmett also imagined and recounted the sad tale of how the girl received and reacted to the increasingly bizarre gifts of her ‘True Love’ on each of The Twelve Days of Christmas while the song was sung by the choir in the background.
Members of Colsterworth Primary School Choir contributed to the programme and sang items which included the Frozen song Let It Go. Indeed the whole evening was a splendid start to Christmas festivities and everyone left with ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ ringing in their ears.
Proceeds were shared between Octovox and ChristChurch.
