PIANIST Richard Markham launches Grantham Music Club’s new season.

Markham will be celebrating his 60th birthday on the night of the concert, Wednesday, October 3.

He has been a regular performers for the Grantham club over 35 years.

His career has taken him to over 60 countries and he has appeared as soloist with all the major British orchestras.

His popular programme will include works by Haydn, Beethoven (Les Adieux Sonata) Chopin and Debussy (commemorating the 100th anniversary of his birth). This concert, along with the five others in the club’s 83rd season, will be held in the hall of the Priory Ruskin Academy, in Rushcliffe Road, Grantham, and refreshments will be available in the interval. It starts at 7.30pm.
