A recital in St Andrew’s Church, Boothby Pagnell, on Monday, December 3, will help raise funds to restore the church’s rare organ.

The evening will feature Deputy Director of the Royal School of Church Music Rosemary Field on the organ, who will be accompanied by soprano Lili La Scala.

The organ is one of few left in the country which were built by Robert Hope Jones. The organ in St Andrew’s was built to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897. It will cost £35,000 to restore it and so far £3,500 has been raised. Tickets cost £15 to include a glass of wine and canapes. Call church warden Tom Blake on 01476 585898 for tickets and details.
