HUNDREDS of string musicians from around the county performed at the ninth annual String Celebration at Grantham’s Meres Leisure Centre.
This year the selection of music included pieces from the James Bond films and Romeo and Juliet.
Juliet Riley of Lincolnshire Music Service said: “What we wanted to do was bring together all of the young string players to see if we could get them all playing the same piece of music.”
After nine years, this year’s event was the first where parents who could play string instruments were encouraged to join in.
The String Celebration conductor, Richard Green, said: “When you have this much work it feels like a big mountain that you have to climb. When you finally get everyone together, that’s when it comes together for me.”
