A gig which will put talented young musicians in the spotlight will take place in Grantham next week.

A group of five young people called the LOV Directors, aged 15 to 18, have come together to create Electric Ballroom. They have done everything from auditioning musicians in the run up the gig and organising the venue. They’ve been responsible for the marketing campaign and will be managing the event on the night as well.

The LOV Directors were also in charge of the LOV Festival in March, a successful day of music and workshops at the Guildhall in Grantham. The group is supported by Lincolnshire One Venues Young People’s Program and the Guildhall Arts centre to create unique arts events and opportunities for young people around Grantham.

Electric Ballroom takes place on Thursday, October 30, at 7.30pm and will give local acts a great opportunity to show off their talents.

The acts include young jazz band The Sushi Cats, acoustic duos The Odells and Alfie Jack, and the singer/song writer Andrew McGrory.

Tickets are available from the Guildhall Arts Centre and cost £3 in advance or £4.50 on the door. Call the box office on 01476 406158 or go to www.guidhall artscentre.com
