Grantham Choral Society will team up with Equinox Saxophone Ensemble to perform a variety of musical styles for their popular autumn concert.

The concert on Saturday, November 3, will feature works by Bach, Handel, Orff and others in what is another interesting departure for the choral society.

A spokesman for the society said: “The saxophone is a chameleon-like instrument capable of taking on many personalities and Equinox places great emphasis on making programmes accessible to a wider audience. So the society is very excited to be combining with them to perform works by these composers as well as some instrumental works by the ensemble alone.”

Lucy Allen and Helen Brackenbury from the renowned girls’ choir Cantamus will also add to the variety of the evening which follows on from the success of last year’s concert.

Next Saturday’s concert starts at 7.30pm in ChristChurch, Finkin Street, Grantham. Tickets cost £12 (adults) and £8 (children, students) and are available from society members, Clark’s shoe shop and the Guildhall box office.
