An organisation currently researching the history of Buckminster and Sewstern, from earliest times to the present day, is holding an exhibition featuring some historic findings next month.

With the help of local volunteers, the Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust is researching the parish of Buckminster which will be published as a paperback in 2016.

A free exhibition will be held in Buckminster Village Hall on Saturday, July 18, 1.30pm-4.30pm (Buckminster Yard, Main Street, Buckminster, NG33 5SA).

People will be able to see some of the Roman and medieval pottery discovered on the site of a monastic grange near the school in 1967, find out more about the walled garden at Buckminster Hall, discover the mystery of Sewstern’s lost medieval chapel, learn about the ‘Buckminster challenge’ swiftly answered by Sproxton in 1946, and much more. All welcome.
