Mill Farm’s maize maze in Barkston gets spooky makeover for Halloween
People will get the chance to explore a haunted maze this Halloween.
The popular maize maze at Mill Farm in Barkston is having a spooky makeover with two horrifying events planned for the scariest time of the year.
On Friday, October 27, from 5pm until 7.30pm, people will get the chance to explore the Twilight Maize Maze where they will find ghostly scarecrows and solve seven clues in a wicked wordsearch.
Farmer Steve Elnor said: “The maize is over eight-foot tall and it is easy to get lost in it - especially at night. I’ve even scared myself out there.
“We just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to share the scare with everyone else this year.”
On Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29, from 6.30pm to 9pm, visitors will get the chance to explore the more horrifying Haunted Maize Maze.
The maze, which is for over 14s only, will include a cast of creepy creatures ready to jump out and scare those who get lost in the maze.
Mill Farm will also be selling pumpkins from its patch again this year, but with a twist.
In a bid to try and reduce the amount of pumpkins that end up in landfill, people are invited to carve the pumpkins at the farm and use the flesh and seeds to feed the farm’s pigs.
