Next amateur dramatics production at Grantham theatre is two one-act comedies over three nights

The next St Peter's Hill Players production features two one-act comedies at Guildhall Arts Centre from Thursday, May 9, till Saturday, May 11.

'Wind Of Change' was penned by Rutland scriptwriter Tracey Dene Powell, of Whissendine, who is hoping that this production will grab the attention of other theatre companies and lead to new exciting projects for her plays.

The story is based around a married couple, Barry and Sadie, and their nephew Matt.

A cocktail of retirement, a mid-life crisis, youthful aspirations and confusion.

The other half of the evening's comedy is entitled Mixed Doubles.

The local tennis club is holding a quiz night. George is the quiz master, his wife Heather has organised the answer sheets and Marjorie, the club's secretary, has prepared mountains of food.

The only problem is, Marjorie sent out the invites too late and only a few members turn up. And, what is worse, Martin, the club 'know-it-all', is one of them.

Secret longings surface . . .
