A taste of the Edinburgh Festival comes to Grantham

Have your say

Funhouse Comedy Club brings an Edinburgh Festival preview special to the Atrium in Grantham on Monday, July 7.

Opening the night will be the effortlessly engaging Andrew Bird who is taking his new show Up Against It to Edinburgh. After getting married, buying a house and having two children in the worst recession since the 1920s, he feels that he has at last earned the right to moan about things. Fed up of being positive and easy-going, he now feels fully justified in being negative and stressed about everything!

Closing will be comedian and novelist Mark Watson, host of BBC’s We Need Answer’s, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and a former Mock The Week regular. He is returning to Edinburgh with Flaws, his darkest and most personal show yet. A former Cambridge Footlighter, he first made an impact on the comedy circuit in 2002 when he won the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition and was a runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny?

Compere for the night is the chatty and lively Spiky Mike.

Tickets are £10 in advance. Doors open 7.45pm for an 8.15pm start. All details and bookings can be found on www.funhousecomedy.co.uk
